Dr. Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial First Grade College was established in 1988 by the Nitte Education Trust. The college is named after Dr. Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya, a philanthropic medical practitioner who contributed immensely to the upliftment of Nitte village. The Nitte Education Trust was founded in 1979 to realise the dream of Justice K S Hegde, the former speaker of Lok Sabha, of empowering the youth so as to build a just and equitable society.
The college was granted permanent affiliation to the Mangalore University and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for research funding and development grants in 1998. Dr. Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial First Grade College was re-accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in Jan. 2016.
Indian Society for Training and Development [ISTD]
The institution has a MoU with the Indian Society for Training and Development [ISTD] for collaborative Education, Training and Development. This collaboration aims at providing a platform for faculty training and organizing workshops for students with the support of experienced resource persons from the industry.
